Accessibility Feedback Form

This form collects feedback on accessibility barriers that could be faced by individuals at Thompson Rivers University (TRU).

Barriers restrict access and participation in university areas, services, and activities. Your completion of this form will help TRU identify and address these barriers to enhance accessibility, contributing to TRU’s Accessibility Plan.

Definition of barriers

Attitudinal barriers

These are barriers that discriminate against persons with disabilities. Examples include:

  • Thinking that persons with disabilities are inferior.
  • Assuming that a person who has a speech impairment cannot understand you.

Technological barriers

These occur when a technology cannot be modified or used to support various assistive devices.

Information or communications barriers

These happen when a person cannot easily understand or access information. Examples include:

  • Print that is too small to read.
  • Websites that cannot be accessed by people who are not able to use a mouse.

The definitions are adapted from the University of Waterloo.
