Labour market shortage
Canada is in an urgent need of high school science and math teachers. This need results in high employment opportunities for our Bachelor of Education (STEM) degree graduates.
About the program
BEd STEM is a one-year intensive, full-time program that starts in July of one year to the end of June the following year. The program includes foundation courses in education, methods courses and practica.
Graduates qualify for a professional teaching certificate from the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Regulation Branch (TRB), certifying them to teach science and mathematics subjects in any Canadian secondary school setting.
Admission requirements
- Six credits of academic English
- Four-year Bachelor of Science degree graduate or equivalent in mathematics or science (such as physics, biology, chemistry, or general science)
Tuition fees
CAD $35,000 for the full program
Entry scholarships
All admissible candidates are eligible to receive a CAD $1,000 entry scholarship.
